I was asked by the award winning London venue McQueen to be part of the launch of their new "Q concept", spread over 3 rooms with each unique design and feel. Throughout the venue they have 12 American Pool tables and 5 casino tables, Black Jack, Poker and Roulette. The night was a glamerous affair with a Vintage Las Vegus theme, with free cocktails and canapes and real London crowd, with some celebs thrown in such as Jimmy White the world snooker champion some of the Love Island cast and some faces flew in from Ibiza. I was invited to DJ at the National Television Awards After Party at the O2 Arena along with my good friend Rusty Egan from Visage. This was a long day but a lot of fun. I got to the venue at 1.30 and took about half an hour to clear security with my van and get the AAA security pass (access all areas) After off loading my sound system (brought in to give the Indogo Club room's sound system a 10,000 watt boost plus some of my lighting to effectively turn it into a nightclub ) we went to see David Walliams practising his part as the new presenter taking over form Ant and Dec. 18th birthday party - I was asked to play at a joint 18th birthday at the London Rowing Club. They wanted a mixture of current club tunes and classic sing along type songs with some up to date charts at the beginning of the night. Cotswolds wedding - Cripps Barn was the venue for this wedding in the Cotswolds and what a wedding it turned out to be. I was joined by Andre on Sax who had flown in from Marbella that afternoon, we worked really well together and that helped make the party go with a swing. Back for it’s 9th summer, we see Freddie Rocks at Pikes as an annual party that truly puts the ‘fun’ in fundraising, as international and local DJs, Ibiza residents, holidaymakers and the entire Pikes family all come together to make a contribution to the foundation while honouring our late great hero in a way we believe would have made him break into that signature grin. Italian Wedding DJ - This was a very multinational affair with the groom from Persia the bride from the Far East the venue in Italy at Castella di Petrata in the mountains overlooking Assisi Add into the mix a DJ from the UK (me) drummer from Ibiza (Rocky) and a Sax player from Poland and an all international guest list it was a very cosmopolitan affair. London Rooftop Party - When the owner of Fabric asks you to do a private party, you know you are going to measured against the best in the industry, so the pressure is on. 60's and 70's party - This brought back a few memories to the people attending the birthday party held in a beautiful surrey cottage last weekend. The client wrote to me the next day saying "We really enjoyed the music yesterday evening. A friend has written to say it was their first time on the dance floor in 10 years, so that can't be bad!" The Vaults - Putney Pies, is one of my favourite venues in London. I am fortunate enough to play there every other month and am joined by the likes of Jon sa Trinxa, Lisa Loud, Howard Hill from Pikes, Samir from Ibiza, the Hoxton Whores and Seb Fontaine in the UK. It really is a fun venue where people go for the music and atmosphere, plus of course the lovely pies The crowd is made of of all ages and all types, its a proper melting pot. Musically it can go anywhere with starting with disco and funk, moving onto house and tech with the occasional bit of classic thrown in. Also expect to hear 80's and 90's music, its a real melting pot of both people
Kent Wedding - When the owners of Godmersham in Kent wanted a DJ for their 300 sit-down wedding it was Spectrum Disco and Paul Linney that they chose to spin tunes into the early hours. This historic venue appears on the new English £10 note and was owned by Jane Austin's brother. There was a real mix of guests with very varied musical tastes so despite the numbers it was quite a hard gig. Cotswolds Wedding
“We used Paul for our wedding in Umbria and he was absolutely brilliant! From the outset, he was very easy to work with – responsive to our emails, polite and accommodating.
We wanted to include a very wide-ranging repertoire, covering all sorts of genres from Persian and Jewish music to garage, indie to house. He did all of this effortlessly!
We had initially agreed for Paul to play for 4 hours but we extended without hesitation for an extra 1.5 hour (until 3.30 am!) as we all wanted to continue partying to his music! The next day, he played at our pool party which went down a treat as well. We all had so much fun dancing to his music! Paul clearly loves what he does and this comes through in his performance.
