West London Wedding – Drayton Court

West London Wedding - If your idea of a good wedding is reception is one of fun and dancing all night then you could not go far wrong by copying the example of the lovely couple I DJ'd for recently. They wanted a party so they invited people to the reception who liked to party, with the bride being Irish and the Groom Scottish they did not have far to look. Another very important factor for the success of the

Hall Place Berkshire – Wedding

Hall Place Berkshire Wedding - I played for the first time at Hall Place in Berkshire and I hope its not the last as it is a great venue with lovely staff http://www.hallplace.co.uk/ The bride and groom had requested a funky start with chart music later in the evening. Here is a video of the bride and bridesmaid dancing to "Relight my Fire" https://youtu.be/y9JcpNM_iRY And here is the playlist: Title Artist Pick Up The Pieces Bass Funk You Make Loving

Wedding at Burrows Lea Country House

I recently DJ'd at a wedding in the lovely Burrows Lea Country House situated in the lovely Surrey Hills, just down the road from Shere. I would recommend this venue for both its location and also the staff who were very attentive. It really was a wedding of two parts with a typical middle of the road start with a more clubby finnish as requested. This can be seen from the difference in the two videos and the play list. so

Hungarian Wedding in Wimbledon

I was asked to play at a Hungarian Wedding in Wimbledon recently.. The venue was the lovely Wimbledon Park Golf Club a 1930's art deco building. Highlight was the bridal dance where the groom sits on a chair by the dance floor with a bucket covered with a towel and the guests place money in the bucket to get a chance to dance with the blushing bride. It was a lot more fun than it sounds as you can see

Hong Kong Style wedding with R&B / Hiphop music

Recently I was asked to DJ and play R&B / Hip Hop at a wedding in Froyle Park near Alton, Hampshire. The bride and groom both originated from Hong Kong as did many of the 180 guests. The wedding breakfast was very traditional with some of the speeches being made in Chinese this was followed by the tea ceremony which historically serves as a means for both parties to meet with each other. As Chinese families can be large, and there may be one

Wedding – two cultures one family

Wedding - I had the pleasure of playing at the wedding of an Iranian girl to a Scottish lad at the weekend. All the males in the wedding party where dressed in kilts irrespective of which country they were from, likewise the bridesmaids all danced a traditional knife dance prior to cutting the cake. I played a mixture of 90's and current music along with some Scottish and Iranian tracks. It was great to see a full dance floor all

London – Mayfair Wedding

I recently was DJ at a Wedding in the lovely Dartmouth House of Mayfair in London, playing in the Churchill Room (named after the man himself who was president of the private member’s club that still meets there today) As you can see from the photo’s the venue is absolutely stunning. The guests arrived in an old Routemaster double decker bus and at the end of the evening the happy couple where driven the 100 yards to the Ritz for their

Same sex wedding – Sean and Ben get married

Only 6 weeks in to the year and my 3rd same sex wedding of 2015. The reception was at the lovely Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park with spectacular views over the Thames Valley to the west. Richmond Park is the largest, and to many, the most beautiful Park in London as it comprises of 2300 acres of totally unspoilt classic English parkland with some 650 deer who roam freely in this tranquil setting. Pembroke Lodge is set within 11 acres of beautifully

A recent review in THUMP the Music and Culture channel Magazine

I was recently interviewed by Thump the music section of culture magazine Vice. They wanted to compare 3 very different wedding DJ's in a light hearted way here is my interview.... Hopping down the motorway, I caught up with London DJ Paul Linney, the selector behind Spectrum Disco. Despite his three decades of experience, and his encroachment on those ever so cosy 60s, he loves his job. Unlike Andy or Chris, he plays out in clubs, still dropping tech-house sets in
