This years Queens Cup Polo After Party was well attended after a close game at Guards Polo Club. Zacara retained the high-goal Cartier Queen’s Cup at Guards Polo Club in a scrappy, highly tactical affair, easing away to a lead of 9-4 in the fifth chukka when they put the game all but out of reach of Talandracas.
Zacara patron Lyndon Lea stepped forward to receive the trophy from HM The Queen on a blustery, overcast afternoon, the favourites having benefited the entire tournament from Facundo Pieres, and whose pony Galactica, used in the 3rd chukka and netting him two goals in that frame, taking the Carlos Gracida Rug as top playing pony. Galactica, a 10-year-old Argentine-bred mare, had won this same prize in 2013.
It was then on to Rock Salt in Ascot High Street for drinks and nibbles then Club 1 ascot at about 11.00pm for the final polo after party of the day finishing off at 03.00pm
