Fifty somethings Funky birthday party

Fifty Funky Party - This Funky Fifty something wanted to relive his youth with music he heard in the clubs back in the day.  A bit of Funk finished of with some 90's House and a few Faithless tracks. Here are some of the comments from the guests: "the music was the best I have had for years, my feet are still hurting...." “Your work the other night was brilliant, I’m no aficionado, but that was the best music and

Alternative 80’s night in Tanzania

Alternative 80's night in Tanzania - While in Zanzibar, I also played at an 80's event. They did not want the normal 80's cheese and chart music but a cooler more club like set. The tracks I played where like a Blitz meets the Hacienda type set and for me a really enjoyable challenge. Here are a few of the tunes    Talking with Myself '98 (Canny Remix) Electribe 101 Fade to grey nu mix cinematic Rusty Egan Colourfield -

Centre Parcs corporate Eighties Night

Eighties night at Centre Parcs  for a big corporate client. When I arrived on site there where over 150 people in eighties fancy dress all ready to party. The room had been dressed by the events company and there was some amazing lighting along with a good sounding PA. All it need was me to produce the goods in my set and give them a eighties night  to remember This what the event planner had to say: "Thanks for being

An Audience with Rusty Egan

Over the past few years, I have been lucky enough to work alongside Rusty Egan a major influence in 80's music and the club scene back then. He is still producing some amazing music and DJing. I have been lucky enough to work alongside him at some great events such as Freddy Rocks at Pikes in Ibiza and also alongside Rusty and  Steve Norman from Spandau Ballet playing the sax at a charity gig in Mayfair- London. It was a

Blondie in London

I was lucky enough to get invited to the Blondie concert at the O2 in Brixton. Not only that I was given backstage passes by the bands drummer Clem Burke, who I am pictured with below: From the when 80's star Debbie Harry and the band launched into their set with the new wave classic ‘One Way or Another’ from 1978’s Parallel Lines, the crowd at the sold out Brixton Academy were whipped into a jubilant fever, something the band

Stoke Newington – 50th Birthday

Stoke Newington - I played in a great party venue a few weeks back called the Old Church in Stoke Newington, London. The occasion was a 50th birthday and the requested music was 80's and more of the New Romantic style from that time frame. The building lent itself to uplighting as this really brought out its features. I also showed images from 1967 news reals as this was the date that the birthday couple had been born in.

Tower Bridge, London – 80’s Party

Tower Bridge, London - I get to play at all sorts of venues in both in the Uk and abroad, but the walkway in Tower Bridge has got to be one of the most unusual. I followed on from an amazing Indian Tabla band, with a Haircut One Hundred 80's playlist (the 40th birthday girl was a big Nick Heywood fan). This was an 80's Party like no other I had played at, the glass floor 42 metres above the River

70’s 80’s & 90’s Themed wedding

70's 80's & 90's Themed wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond. It was a first time I have had a musical theme such as this for a wedding, and it worked really well. Having a big (in wedding terms) crowd of 150 helped as well. Starting with the 70's and ending with 90's meant it covered the tunes form the youth of the majority of the guests and because they new that this was how I was going to play

Glitterbox – Ministry of Sound London

I like to keep abreast of what is happening musically and recently went to the Ministry of Sound to catch up on the latest tunes being played by the likes of Joey Negro, John Morales and  Todd Terry at the Defected night that has been getting rave revues in Ibiza namely Glitterbox. There are some great mixes of classic 80's tunes that really help to lift a party. Below is a playlist of some of the Glitterbox tracks I may
