A great night was had by all for Niki’s Funky 40th party. She wanted a night of funk and vocal house with a bit of charts. Then at the last minute asked me to mix in a half hour Samba house set for some rather lovely Brazillian dancers.
Helping me with this task was percussionist Jay on Drums. He was great to work with and added a real live vibe to the evening, really mixing up his beats and adding something special to the songs. He played through my 8,000 Watt JBL and Crown sound system which gave the event the club feel Niki was after.
