What songs actually work for a Party???

What songs should be played at a Party or Wedding? It really depends on the guests, the more varied the guests the more varied the music, unless the party is themed or the person paying the bill requests a particular style or musical genre to be played all night. Wedding Disco at Great Fosters – Surrey

On Sunday I had the pleasure of DJing at the Wedding of the lovely Chris and Helen at Great Fosters  in Surrey. They had the evening reception in the Tithe Barn which is such a wonderful venue for a wedding, especially at this time of year with its roaring fires and cosy leather chairs. The event was captured on by the lovely Sophie Duckworth of Sophie Duckworth Photography who stay well into the evening to get those un-guarded shots of the

Great wedding last night at Northcote House in Ascot. Rachel and James had more than 100 guests of all ages at their reception at the lovely Northcote House in Ascot. All the nights have only just started to draw in, I have been actively working on my Xmas schedule. Wedding in Laleham Park

This weekend, I DJ'd at a lovely wedding in Laleham Park, Surrey. 200 people, lovely weather and an unusual setting, made for a great time. The location was right in the middle of the Park football pitch with the chairs outside and me playing motown love songs as the guests arrived. When the Bride walked down the aisle her sister sang a Sade number to her and I played Signed Sealed Delivered. I also took photos of the blessing and

The Hope in Kew

The Diamond Rock Ball went well and I have been booked for next year, which is always a good sign. This Friday I am at The Hope in Kew playing to 150 35-45 year old who like partying and love Ibiza. Should be a good night. the venue has no sound limiter issues and I can use smoke, so lazers and lighting will used to good effect. The following night is an 18th in Esher again 150 people this time

60’s Wedding

I DJ'd at two weddings over the Bank Holiday and have another two this weekend. Last Saturday, I played the music at 60's soul / Northern Soul themed wedding. The bride and groom turned up in an old Jag she looked like twiggy in a short white mini skirt and he was very mod looking. Musically it made a change for me and was really enjoyable although some guests in the evening appeared to be a little bit musically illiterate
