I was invited to DJ at the National Television Awards After Party at the O2 Arena along with my good friend Rusty Egan from Visage. This was a long day but a lot of fun. I got to the venue at 1.30 and took about half an hour to clear security with my van and get the AAA security pass (access all areas)
After off loading my sound system (brought in to give the Indogo Club room’s sound system a 10,000 watt boost plus some of my lighting to effectively turn it into a nightclub ) we went to see David Walliams practising his part as the new presenter taking over form Ant and Dec. Then it was time to get changed and off to the Red Carpet reception area, which was fun and allowed me to catch up with Vernon Kay, with whom I have done some work on previous occasions.
Then it was on with the Awards……… walking into the front of the arena was quite a shock, with camera’s and people shouting out, I was beside Jesy Nelson as we came out of the side tunnel and she got a massive applause from those in the stands above us.
15 mins before the end a runner came to get me to take me back to the room where I was going to play to all the VIP’s and Stars. It was pretty surreal having the cast of Eastenders and Love Island dancing around in front of you, in the DJ booth we were joined by Cullum Best and Davina Mccall……. It was a fun night though and I am looking forward to doing it again.
