40th Birthday Fancy Dress with 80’s music theme

80s night - It was the first fancy dress party I had played at for a while. I was asked to DJ at our local village hall for a great guy for his 40th birthday. The fancy dress party  theme was eighties as that was the time the party boy had gone to his first parties. It turned out to be a real fun evening with all the guests turning up in theme as you can see from the video below.

Cool Christmas songs

Cool Christmas songs This Christmas I thought I would put together a Christmas song list of cool tunes rather than the normal Xmas song list you get. I am regularly asked to DJ in Surrey and the crowd expect something a little different.......   This is a list of tunes I collected over the years that I would play to a more discerning crowd who by the time of their Christmas party are probably more than just a bit tired

18th for Ethereal Events

18th Party in a lovely Kent location I had the chance to work again with Georgie Lilwall from Ethereal Events for an 18th Birthday party she had organised at a lovely property in Kent. It really was in the middle of nowhere, so we had no restrictions on sound and where able to recreate the nightclub party the client was after in the beautifully decked out Marquee. Music wise, I had been asked to play commercial house with a few

Top 50 Xmas tunes

Xmas Party tunes.....It’s that time of year again when Xmas tunes are put on auto repeat by most radio stations and shops across the country. No song is played more than The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl "Fairytale of New York.” I have put together a list of the tunes that get the most airplay according to the PRS.I wonder when we will start to hear them being played?? and which I will be requested to play at one of

Wedding at Coworth Park

I recently played at a lovely wedding in Coworth Park, Berkshire - Part of the Dorchester Hotels group. Here is a short video of the last dance and also the playlist. (The Bride did not want pop or typical wedding songs) Coworth Park is a luxurious country house hotel on the borders of Windsor Great Park is high-end style without the stuffiness. It’s an idyllic place for a romantic retreat and a favourite with families seeking a relaxing break with a dash

London Wedding

I was lucky enough to be the DJ at a lovely London Wedding this weekend at Bumpkin in Chelsea It was the marriage of a boy from Spain and a girl from America and the bringing together of two cultures. When I arrived the venue (which I would highly recommend for a party or a London Wedding) was buzzing with some great characters. I sensed that it was going to be a good night, I was not disappointed. The tables in

Surrey Wedding for Richard and Katie

Friday 20th June saw the Surrey wedding of Richard and Katie at St Peters Church in Staines. It was well attended, with 140 sit down guests to the wedding breakfast and a further 200 arriving for the evening celebrations at the Thistle Hotel Heathrow. The room looked amazing and was a credit to the staff of the hotel. On arrival at the hotel, they where greeted by the excellent singing of Paul Holgate of So Sinatra and Sugartown Entertainments, his rat

Queens Cup Polo After Party

This years Queens Cup Polo After Party was well attended after a close game at Guards Polo Club. Zacara retained the high-goal Cartier Queen's Cup at Guards Polo Club in a scrappy, highly tactical affair, easing away to a lead of 9-4 in the fifth chukka when they put the game all but out of reach of Talandracas. Zacara patron Lyndon Lea stepped forward to receive the trophy from HM The Queen on a blustery, overcast afternoon, the favourites having
